Taigs, Tarriers, Fenians, Tattie-Munchers, Bead-Rattlers, Left-Footers – there are about as many names for Catholics, especially of the Irish variety, than there are Catholics in Scotland. Protestants, on the other hand, are tagged with no such labels. In fact, I can’t think of any derogatory term for Protestants at all...
