Let's take a somewhat demure meander down memory lane with our dear fellow, Bailey Rice. A Scottish born laddie, given life on the 4th of October, 2006, who currently struts his stuff for that other team in Glasgow and not the mighty Celtic. Pretending to be a fully-grown man at the tender age of 18, Bailey, with the number 49 jersey awkwardly draped over him, mostly adopts the role of a central defensive midfielder. Or so we are currently led to believe.
His career at the blues kicked off with a whimper more than a bang. The 2022-2023 season was apparently his debut, where he reportedly made a singular appearance. No trophies to speak of yet. It seems the following season, 2023-2024, he doubled his efforts and hustled his way onto the pitch on a grand total of two occasions. But as far as statistics go? Well, sprites have left a heavier footprint.
Rapidly progressing to the current season, 2024-2025, and it seems Bailey has upped his game to an even higher degree of invisibility. No appearances for the first team, one would not blame you if you forgot he was even there. Excellent work, lad.
Not to despair, it seems the lad had a run-out in Europe, a bench-dwelling attempt in the 2024-2025 edition of the Europa League. One single solitary appearance, albeit in a substitute role. Something to tell the grand kids I suppose.
It's always satisfying to watch such a promising talent. Well, 'promising' perhaps used in its loosest sense. One would wonder if, much like his performances, he might simply disappear in the ether of mediocrity. But in the spirit of optimism, if or when the lad makes more of a name for himself, we'll no doubt catch wind of it. After all, nobody wants green with envy, do they?
