Feyenoord are one of the Netherlands’ established powers, founded in 1908 and still anchored at Stadion Feijenoord. Their current position is strong: first in the Eredivisie during the 2026-27 season, with a young, sizeable squad of 37 players and an average age of 23.
Their league form has been emphatic. Recent wins over AZ, FC Utrecht, PEC Zwolle, NEC Nijmegen and Cambuur include scorelines of 5-0, 7-0 and 5-2, with only a 2-2 draw against ADO Den Haag interrupting that run. At home they are averaging 2.8 goals per match, while their away figure sits at four, which is not a subtle attacking profile.
The goals are being spread rather than carried by one obvious figure. Anis Hadj Moussa, Ignacio 'Nacho Ferri' Ferri Julià and Gjivai Zechiël each have five, with Luciano Valente on four and Ayase Ueda on three. Feyenoord have also struck first inside 20 minutes in seven of 18 league matches, so opponents have not often been given the luxury of settling in.
Their season has also included the Champions League league phase, placing domestic strength alongside a higher European workload. For Celtic supporters, Feyenoord currently look like a sharp, confident Eredivisie leader with enough scoring depth to make any meeting a serious test.
